The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) is seeking candidates for the prestigious position of medical director of the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center (SSCBC).
• Directing the breast cancer program
• Ensuring highly accessible, efficient and multidisciplinary clinical operations
• Maintaining NAPBC accreditation
• Shaping and adhering to NCCN guidelines
• Partnering with research leaders
• Helping the team earn consistently stellar patient satisfaction
• Promoting an interdisciplinary organizational culture
• Partnering with Development in fundraising initiatives
• Serving as the face of breast cancer in the media and throughout the
MD or DO degree, fellowship training and board certification are required, as are clinical research acumen and substantial leadership skills and experience. Candidates must also meet Ohio medical licensure requirements.
About the SSCBC
The SSCBC is the fi rst of its kind in the Midwest, offering the full continuum of breast cancer care—from prevention and screening through detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship—in a single, world-class
facility. Opened in January 2011, the SSCBC is a 115,000-square-foot, four-story, free-standing building.
At the SSCBC, the provider team includes 40 subspecialized physicians and 29 nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The support sta includes 55 nurses, 40 mammography and ultrasound technologists, two social workers and one PhD clinical psychologist.

The OSUCCC – James (cancer.osu.edu) is one of only 49 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation and is one of only a few centers funded by the NCI to conduct both phase I and II clinical trials on novel anticancer drugs sponsored by the NCI. The James is one of the top cancer hospitals in the nation as ranked by U.S. News & World Report and boasts a new 1.1-million-square-foot facility.
