Research Associate - Human Anti-Tumor Immune Cell Lab

Position Summary

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Research Associate to join our Immuno-Oncology Group. The successful candidate will work on a team that develops and executes functional T cell assays using clinical specimens. The assays include both direct ex vivo analysis as well as in vitro immune cell culture. The candidate should be experienced with culturing primary human T cells and antigen presenting cells, as well as basic functional immune assays such as ELISPOT assays and T cell stimulation assays.
The position also requires mastery of multi-color (12+) flow cytometry. Other preferred technical skills include experience with basic molecular biology and protein biochemistry techniques, including nucleic acid isolation, PCR, and Western blotting.

Duties:

Job Responsibilities
• Independently isolate PBMC from human peripheral blood.
• Derive human dendritic cells from human PBMC.
• Isolate tumor infiltrating immune cells from human tumor resections for phenotypic and functional analyses.
• Perform T cell functional assays including ELISPOT.
• Independently perform antibody and multimer staining for multiparameter flow cytometry; independent operation of flow cytometer.
• Collaborate with internal research and clinical teams to develop and perform human T cell functional assays.


Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of an MS Degree in immunology or related discipline and 3 years of experience in T cell immunology and hands-on technical experience in primary immune cell culture.. Additional requirements include:

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience working in cross-functional teams

Required skills: Multiparameter flow cytometry, primary human T cell culture, immune cell functional assays, basic molecular biology and protein biochemistry experience, ELISA, ELISPOT.

Preferred experience: Tumor immunology, tumor dissociation.

Level will be commensurate with experience
