Senior Director, Alliance Management

Genmab is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Director of Alliance Management to be part of our Project Management team. This position is based in our Princeton, NJ office.

The Senior Director of Alliance Management will be responsible for managing and optimizing the value of our alliances at all stages of the product life cycle to ensure proactive management and smooth functioning of our partnership portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the governance of partnership agreements (including supporting joint committees and launch of new partnerships, setting agenda’s and ensure teams are prepared with their deliverables)

• Developing joint alliance vision, goals, and guiding principles (e.g., communication, decision-making, issue resolution)

• Managing long term relationships between Genmab and our corporate partners by establishing a high level of trust

• Partnering closely with Compound Development Team Leads, Project Managers, and joint development teams to ensure appropriate alliance management support for partnered programs

• Monitoring all alliance related activities and leading joint teams in resolving issues regarding effective communication, conflict or role clarification, including leading impasse resolution between partners when necessary

• Ensuring joint strategy and decisions are implemented in alignment with alliance operating principles and product strategy

• Ensuring tracking, communication and management of key milestones, financial transactions and progress reports to assure compliance

• Determining key success factors and metrics for measuring alliance health and success

• Becoming our internal expert on partner companies by building expertise about partner companies, including company organization/leadership, strategies, financials, priorities, etc.

• Working with Business Development on new product or company evaluation and deal negotiations, including governance structure and partnership launch preparation

• Developing vision and strategy and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance our alliance management capability to grow our reputation as a premier alliance partner

• Coaching and supervising Alliance Managers

• Ensuring that alliances are managed consistently, leveraging best practices and standard tools

• Contributing as a member of the Project and Alliance Management Leadership team

Skills & Experience

Master of Science degree required, advanced degree (MBA/PhD) preferred

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant drug development experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or related industry including experience with product commercialization

• Professional certification in alliance management, project management, corporate training, or another relevant discipline preferred

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Extensive experience working in a leadership role on an alliance with global partners required

• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, and resolve conflict

• Ability to create scenarios that address both partners fundamental business objectives as well as key underlying interests

• Demonstrated attention to detail and excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple alliances/projects/priorities

• Ability to travel substantially to meet with Genmab’s global partners and colleagues at the different locations

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
