Medical Oncologist position available

Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center seeks to hire a full-time Medical Oncologist to provide Medical Oncology services at a satellite location in Show Low, Arizona at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center (SHRMC). 

The Medical Oncologist will be employed by Dignity Health St. Joseph’s and will report to the ACMO for Oncology Physician Services.  The Medical Oncologist will partner with the Cancer Center Director at SHRMC Cancer Center to provide high quality, evidence-based cancer care to the people of northeast Arizona.  A Dignity Health St. Joseph’s employed Radiation Oncologist is also on location at the SHRMC Cancer Center.

The successful candidate will:    

  • Have a current AZ Medical License or be eligible for an Arizona State Medical License as an MD or DO;
  • New graduates will be considered and must be Fellowship trained in Medical Oncology and Hematology:
  • Be Board certified in medical oncology and hematology (or board eligible for new graduates);
  • Have the ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at SHRMC and Dignity Health Arizona hospitals;
  • Be passionate about providing clinically excellent, evidence-based care;
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop effective and respectful relationships with colleagues, staff, patients and other persons from diverse backgrounds and cultures. 

The Summit Healthcare Cancer Center is on the campus of SHRMC and was recently accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC), American College of Surgeons (ACS).  SHRMC is a private, not-for-profit regional facility with 89 licensed beds and provides health care to the more than 90,000 permanent and seasonal residents living in a 3,000 square mile area.
