Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is seeking board certified/board eligible hematologists to develop a benign hematology program to supplement our Centers of Excellence (COE).  Those COEs include The University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s (includes all malignancies and Cellular Therapy), the Norton Thoracic Institute (one of the busiest lung transplant programs in the country), the Liver and Kidney Transplant program, Dignity Health Medical Group Internal Medicine and Surgical Specialists, and The Barrow Neurologic Institute.  Dignity Health St. Joseph’s recently implemented a Destination Medicine program and is receiving calls for care from persons outside of our local service area and from Canada and other countries.  Along with an inpatient consult service, an outpatient clinic, the development of an apheresis service and an anti-coagulation clinic are highly desirable.  Faculty appointments to Creighton University and The University of Arizona are available for qualified candidates and many teaching and clinical trial participation opportunities are available

We offer unique opportunities to build best-in-class patient care programs by combining the academic strengths of Creighton University and the University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center (UACC) with the outstanding care provided by St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Dignity Health, and now a member of CommonSpirit Health (the largest not-for-profit health care company in the Country).  The City of Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country and one of the fastest growing since 2016.  We are known for our wonderful climate and many outdoor and indoor recreational activities.  The Benign Hematology team will work closely with the leadership of both Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Malignant Hematology Program at the Cancer Center to ensure the growth of the comprehensive patient care programs as well as the implementation and growth of the translational and clinical trials programs.
