In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island our teams accommodate more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting monthly meetings of the Division of Hematology and Oncology 
  • Participate with the Hospital in the development and implementation of programs to optimize services delivered, quality assurance, and patient satisfaction at the Hospital
  • Planning joint programs, procedures, and coordinating activities and other patient care services with members of other departments, including but not limited to Pathology, the Clinical Laboratories and the Blood Bank
  • Serving as the Assistant Chairman of the Tumor Board
  • Preparing, monitoring and following up on division Performance Indicators and reporting to the Department of Medicine Performance Improvement Committee
  • Preparing monthly schedules for teaching of students, residents, and fellows
  • Assisting in the development of the Hematology and Oncology Curriculum for the Internal Medicine Residencies and helping coordinate the scheduling of lectures and lecturers
  • Coordinating Fellows’ Activities with the collaborating training program sponsor (Maimonides), including scheduling, evaluations, attending milestone meetings and participating in interviews for Fellow Match Selections at Maimonides

Successful candidate will be Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology, and possess demonstrated leadership, educational and managerial abilities that include knowledge of personnel, finance, quality and clinical resource management. Maturity in clinical practice in the specialty of Hematology and Oncology is essential.
