Altru Health System is a non-profit integrated health system with headquarters on a 90-acre medical campus in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Altru was created July 1, 1997, when the Grand Forks Clinic and United Hospital integrated. Altru is a 262-bed, Level II Trauma Center with more than 180 physicians representing 44 specialties and serving a primary care population of over 250,000. Altru Health System provides an array of services to meet the needs of area residents of all ages and all levels of health. These services include a congregate retirement community (Parkwood Place), Altru Home Services, and Altru Health Foundation. The University of North Dakota School of Medicine (UNDSOM) located in Grand Forks offers teaching opportunities with residency programs in Family Practice (Altru) and General Surgery (UNDSOM).
