NEURO-ONCOLOGIST

Duke University Medical Center

The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center in the Department of Neurosurgery and Duke Cancer Institute at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a board certified MD or MD/PhD Medical Oncologist to join an active and expanding program. Responsibilities include outpatient clinical service in the Duke Cancer Center, a role as an independent clinical investigator working to mobilize new efforts in immunotherapy for primary and metastatic brain tumors, education of fellows and house staff, and protected time for translational research activities. Prior training in neuro-oncology is not critical though desired. Faculty rank, salary, and startup funds will be commensurate with experience and potential.

At the core of The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center’s success lies the commitment of countless physicians, nurses, researchers, and staff—all with the collective goal of caring for patients and their families, improving their quality of life, and ultimately finding a cure for brain tumors. The National Cancer Institute has given the center the highest rating of “outstanding” for each of the last 10 years. The center conducts more groundbreaking research, sees more brain tumor patients, has more experience with more types of brain tumors, and provides more innovative treatments than most other centers in the world.

The greater Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, also known as the Research Triangle Park, is family-friendly yet offers singles many options for an active outdoor and social life.  Three major universities surround this globally prominent high-tech research and development center making it a culturally diverse, economically resilient, and a nationally recognized great place to live.
