Director, Blood and Marrow Transplant & Hematologic Malignancies Clinical Program - MUSC
The Director of Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) & Hematologic Malignancies Program is responsible for effective program coordination and management, enhancement of quality and outcomes, and expansion of clinical, laboratory and translational research efforts. The candidate will have the necessary resources to grow and elevate the BMT and Hematologic Malignancies Program to national prominence in both clinical and research arenas. This position will report directly to the Hematology/Oncology Division Chief at the Medical University of South Carolina, and follow the strategic directions set forth by the Hematology/Oncology Division Chief and the Hollings Cancer Center Director.
The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (MD or DO). Candidates must be board certified in hematology and/or medical oncology with at least two years as an attending physician responsible for direct clinical management of BMT patients. Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic science center is needed. Also, a history of clinical translational research in BMT or research in BMT and/or hematologic malignancies required. Candidates should also have a track record of peer reviewed funding.
