POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Laboratory Associate will assist in building and establishing GRAIL’s Clinical Laboratory and supporting the daily operations of the Clinical Laboratory.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Clinical Laboratory Scientist with preparation and aliquoting of reagents and with specimen testing.
  • Assist with sample intake, unpacking, processing of all incoming clinical specimens and plasma isolating samples.
  • Perform equipment maintenance according to laboratory protocol.
  • Create sample batches, print labels and label tubes and plates.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of material, supplies and equipment in the laboratory for performance of duties.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining Clinical Laboratory records.
  • Monitor and record room and cold storage temperatures and humidity.
  • Assist in building and establishing GRAIL’s Clinical Laboratory.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams responsible for securing CLIA certification, CAP accreditation, and state licensure for the GRAIL Clinical Laboratory, including compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science or related field preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to be able to work as part of a team within a highly collaborative environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Laboratory related experience in high complexity Clinical Lab.
  • Molecular diagnostics and Next-generation sequencing experience.
