Gynecological Surgical Oncologist Staff Physician

Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, in partnership with the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), is seeking a Board-certified/Board-eligible Surgical Oncologist experienced in the management of patients with Gynecological cancer conditions such as cervical, endometrial, ovarian, peritoneal, tubal, vaginal and vulvar cancers.

This position will be employed by the Dignity Health Medical Group and report to the Chair for Obstetrics and Gynecology.  The Surgical Oncologist will participate in the development of a Gynecologic oncology program for our growing NCI-designated comprehensive cancer program.  Responsibilities include working with the Chair to build and cultivate professional community relationships, ensure the growth of the clinical patient care program, participate in the NRG Oncology and cooperative group studies and the implementation of a clinical trial research program.  The candidate should have a strong interest in cancer prevention or treatment research and be prepared to participate in the establishment of a clinical trials program under the direction of the Chair and in collaboration with the UA Deputy Director, the VP, Oncology Services Dignity Health AZ and the UA Director for Research Administration. 

Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • AZ Medical License,
  • Board certified or Board eligible for specialty
  • Clinical trial experience
  • Teaching experience
  • Acceptable references from supervisor, peer, and subordinate; from a registered nurse; and from a research mentor
  • Willing to abide by and promote the values of Dignity Health SJHMC and the UA.
