The Chief, Division of Hematology-Oncology and Clinical Research Director of the UMMS Cancer Research Center oversees all healthcare services delivered under the aegis of the Division, promoting teaching, innovation and cutting-edge research while making clinical and administrative decisions within established operating philosophy, goals and objectives of UMMHC. Working in the Department of Medicine, and reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine, the Chief will build a highly functional Division through collaboration with senior leadership. As Clinical Research Director of the Cancer Research Center, the Chief will report to the Director of the UMass Cancer Center and work to both build NIH-funded research within the division of Hematology-Oncology, and strengthen ties across the basic, translational and clinical research communities at UMMS.
The Chief of Hematology-Oncology and Clinical Research Director of the UMMS Cancer Research Center will be a highly accomplished, board-certified medical oncologist and physician-scientist who is academically recognized with demonstrated success as a Chief, director, division chief, or similar leadership role with a track record of NIH funding success, building successful programs or Divisions in a complex academic medical center.
