The team’s mission is to leverage real-world data derived from electronic health records and employ cutting-edge information technology to accelerate cancer research and improve care. Our areas of research focus include outcomes research, clinical trials, precision medicine and health services research.
Flatiron takes a highly collaborative, team-based approach to answering critical research questions. Our research partners include life sciences companies, the National Cancer Institute, the Food & Drug Administration, NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network®. Our extensive network of community-based and academic medical centers includes more than 800 sites of care and 2,500 clinicians across the U.S. Our network of clinical partners care for two million cancer patients. In addition to providing software solutions to our partners, Flatiron creates highly-curated datasets which can be used for quality assessment and improvement activities. In addition, de-identified data support research activities, including patterns of care, precision medicine, and development and validation of new models to explore treatment outcomes.
Flatiron’s research oncologists lead projects involving retrospective analysis and prospective clinical studies. Flatiron promotes a highly academic environment, with publication authorship, presentations, journal clubs and outside speaker series. We are seeking oncologists with clinical research training and experience in data analytic methods or clinical trials, who thrive in a cutting-edge fast-paced environment that values and supports creativity, flexibility, teamwork and career development. Research oncologists may choose to continue patient care one day per week.
