Geisinger is seeking an experienced leader to join and advance our services in Central Pennsylvania at Geisinger Medical Center.

Geisinger Medical Center, located in Danville, Pennsylvania, is looking for a board-certified Director of Hematology/Oncology.  The position involves inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities. The infusion room at GMC is staffed by a seasoned group of oncology-certified nurses. The FACT-accredited Bone Marrow Transplant Program is based in Danville. The Director of Hematology/Oncology will report directly to the Chairman of the Cancer Institute.  The Director will join a skilled and cohesive group of physicians.  The team is supported by advanced practitioners, specialty nurses, social workers, dieticians, and case managers. GMC has QOPI, ACoS, NAPBC and ACR accreditations.  Multidisciplinary conferences and clinics are held at GMC encouraging professional engagement with other specialists and affording patients the best possible care.  The director will also be responsible for Hem/Onc outreach locations in Lewisburg, Selinsgrove, Hazleton, and Pottsville.

Geisinger has membership affiliations with Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, EGOG-ACRIN, NRG Oncology, University of Rochester Cancer Center and Wake Forest. Palliative medicine services are also offered at each campus. Working with Geisinger’s Department of Oncology Innovation and Analytics, physicians have the opportunity to participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects.
