Faculty Position available for Brain Cancer Program at Sibley Memorial Hospital
The Departments of Neurology and Oncology invite applications for a Johns Hopkins University Brain Cancer Program faculty position based at our Sibley Hospital location in Washington, D.C. We are seeking candidates with expertise in the care of brain cancer patients, clinical and translational research, and/or quality initiatives. The primary department for this appointment will be in either the Department of Neurology or Oncology as appropriate to optimally support career development. Academic rank will be commensurate with level of experience.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant Brain Cancer Program that currently includes 6 adult and pediatric neuro-oncologists, 6 neurosurgical oncologists, 2 radiation neuro-oncologists, outstanding neuropathology and neuroradiology and fellowship training. The Departments of Oncology (http://www.hopkinskimmelcancercenter.org) and Neurology (http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/neurology_neurosurgery/) have over 250 faculty members directing research in a wide range of fields including molecular, cellular and developmental biology, neuroscience, genetics, immunology, bioinformatics and biostatistics. All Oncology faculty are also members of the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The successful applicant must be board certified or eligible with strong clinical skills necessary to continue developing our brain cancer program in the Washington, D.C. market. Applicants should demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in clinical and/or translational research, education, or quality improvement. The candidate will have opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and scholarship, working with East Baltimore based faculty.
