Developmental Therapeutics – Lurie Cancer Center

Postgraduate Developmental Therapeutics Fellowship

The Developmental Therapeutics – Lurie Cancer Center (DT-LCC) clinic accelerates the continuum of pre-clinical, translational, and clinical science thus delivering more effective treatment approaches of cancer. A core component of DT-LCC’s mission is the nurturing of physician-scientist and clinical researcher colleagues who will focus their work on developmental therapeutics. The DT-LCC Postgraduate Hematology/Oncology Developmental Therapeutics Fellowship is a one or two-year program dedicated to training and mentoring our colleagues and is administered through the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. DT-LCC faculty and graduates now serve in diverse positions at Northwestern, in other academic institutions and/or in the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries. DT-LCC fellows play a central role in many aspects of developmental therapeutics from designing pre-clinical experiments through collaborations with basic scientists, development of clinical trial concepts, study implementation and execution in a wide spectrum of malignancies. DT-LCC fellows are appointed based upon evidence of both exceptional ability and commitment to a physician-scientist or clinical researcher career in cancer-related developmental therapeutics. Outpatient clinical activities during the fellowship ensure exposure to, and active participation in the conduct of, a very broad clinical studies portfolio. DT-LCC fellows receive focused mentorship in obtaining independent funding in the area of their research interest. Additional training opportunities may be available, including a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) – a degree program in clinical investigation sponsored by the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences (NUCATS) Institute.

DT-LCC operates in close collaboration with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, and is a key component of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Division of Hematology/Oncology. DT-LCC has dedicated patient care facilities and a full range of support staff while institutional facilities include a modern 900-bed teaching hospital, hospitals dedicated to pediatric and women’s health, a stem cell transplantation unit, an outpatient clinical cancer center, and a clinical research office supported by the Lurie Cancer Center. Northwestern University contains the full range of cores required for developmental therapeutics. The Woman's Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital is the major funder of the DT-LCC Fellowship program with its funding also a component of our industry clinical research Alliances.

Northwestern University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. These positions will remain open until filled.
