The Yale Cancer Center invite applications from board-certified/board eligible medical oncologists to serve as the Associate Cancer Center Director for Clinical Research and Director of the Clinical Trials Office. The incumbent should have a demonstrated academic record consistent with the level of Associate Professor or Professor at Yale School of Medicine. In addition to being active clinically, as part of the leadership team the incumbent will play a critical role in determining the strategic priorities of the Center, particularly as they relate to clinical and translational research. The position’s scope of responsibility includes leadership and oversight of a dynamic clinical trials effort, encompassing a portfolio of federally funded trials, industry-sponsored trials, and investigator initiated trials over the entirety of the Yale and Smilow clinical delivery network, including the Smilow Cancer Hospital campus in New Haven, a dedicated Phase 1 clinical trials unit, 4 additional hospital locations across Connecticut, and 12 community-based Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Centers. Of particular importance is a successful track record and experience in participating as a principal investigator on a diverse set of trials, leadership in the clinical/translational research efforts at a NCI designated comprehensive cancer center, mentoring young investigators in clinical and translational research, and building strong cooperative teams across disciplines. This position includes responsibilities in research administration, clinical research operations, participating in the teaching mission of Yale School of Medicine, and a commitment to clinical medicine.
