Hematology/Oncology Chief Opportunity

The Department of Medicine at Denver Health and the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSOM) are recruiting a chief of Hematology/Oncology to join Denver Health Medical Center.  This is an academic position that emphasizes patient care, housestaff and fellow training, and clinical research.  The DH program is fully integrated with the Division of Medical Oncology at UCSOM, including a shared fellowship program and clinical responsibilities.  An NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center with resources to foster research is based at UCSOM.

The Chief of Oncology will have oversight of all care delivered by the Division of Oncology at Denver Health and will provide overall strategic leadership of the Division.  He/She will have responsibility for strategic planning, clinical services, professional performance, business performance, medical education, and physician practice.  Developing relationships with key internal stakeholders is of particular importance.  Advancing a culture of excellence in oncology, the Chief will be dedicated to performance expectations, which provide for the highest quality patient care and consistency in clinical care standards, driven by patient safety requirements and clinical outcomes monitoring.  He/she will be responsible for the growth and advancement of research, scholarly activity and teaching excellence of the Division continuing to raise the bar on medical student and resident education and developing a stronger commitment to departmental research efforts.
