Medical Oncology Position on the Gulf Coast
Infirmary Health, one of the largest integrated health systems in the state of Alabama, is recruiting Medical Oncologists to grow the Infirmary Cancer Care program. With over 5,000 employees and 700 physicians, Infirmary Health is the governing organization of five acute care hospitals, two post-acute care facilities, three diagnostic centers, two urgent care clinics, and other affiliate locations.
Infirmary Health has a clinic network of employed physicians in 30 locations, which includes a strong multi-specialty physician group of 80 physicians. The flagship hospital, Mobile Infirmary, is a 677 bed tertiary care hospital and is one of the busiest surgical hospitals in the state
Infirmary Health has made a strategic decision to make significant investments in its Cancer program in order to become the destination of choice for cancer care in the region. The strategic plan calls for building two free standing, integrated, multi-disciplinary Cancer Centers. Infirmary Cancer Care plans to offer team based, disease specific, comprehensive cancer care with all services under one roof. In addition, a clinical trails core will offer state of the art clinical trials to its patients. Infirmary Cancer Care Physicians will have access to:
- Advanced treatments for cancer patients
- New Oncology rehab program
- Active multidisciplinary tumor boards
- Strong navigator support
Infirmary Cancer Care plans to add 10 new physicians to its existing 10 cancer physicians. Physicians specializing in Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Breast Surgical Oncology are encourage to apply. Those completing fellowships and practicing physicians with clinical or academic experience are welcome to apply. J-1 Visa applicants will also be considered.
