Director Market Intelligence Oncology

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilites of this role, Director Market Intelligence, are to:

Own insights generations and key Market Intelligence deliverables for the Business:

  • Generate insights through synthesis of multiple sources to drive BU growth;
  • Account for all major deliverables e.g. pilot effectiveness, situation analyses, MMx, call plans;
  • Identify, recommend and lead appropriate market research studies and analyses to support Oncology brands and channels;
  • Ensure success and completeness of commercial analytics projects;
  • Partner with Pharma leadership to help identify KPIs and set goals;
  • Provide relevant insights and support Commercial Data Strategy team in data strategy definition;

Be a primary point of contact and key advisor to the business:

  • Ensure effective cross-functional communication and alignment on commercial analytics and insights;
  • Partner with Finance to help generate forecast by proving insights and model assumptions (as relevant);
  • Represent Business Insights / Market Intelligence team at BU leadership forums and bring Voice of Customer perspective;
  • Curate BU relationship and receive & distribute BU requests within Business Insights;
  • Provide relevant insights and support BU strategies development (e.g. brand plan, StraCo);
  • Drive BU innovations by using analytics to uncover business opportunities;

Partner with global stakeholders:

  • Serve as a liaison between local BU and global Commercial Insights & Analytics;
  • Ensure global strategy/ initiative adaption to local market and implementation by providing inputs and ensuring alignment with LMR;

Develop talent and competencies and manage a team:

  • Manage Market Intelligence team;
  • Identify gaps in skill sets and competencies, provide training and ensure right staffing of organization;
  • Lead discussions around performance development and evaluation;
  • Drive and direct market intelligence vision, strategy and development;
  • Develop annual market research and analytic plan;
  • Develop and manage Market Intelligence budget in partnership with BU
  • Advance department capabilities;
  • Develop and implement strategies for key agencies and vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in Health-Economics, Statistics, Management Science, Business, Marketing, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in abovementioned field combined with MBA from globally leading school;
  • 8+ years of overall full-time work experience, of which 5+ years of relevant experience in pharma / healthcare commercial market intelligence (primary research, secondary research, third party data analytics, vendor management, etc.) AND the most recent 3+ years fulltime employed in U.S. healthcare;
  • Strong knowledge of the US Healthcare environment across multiple segments and brands pertaining to Bayer’s global business;
  • Record of professional success, demonstrated through above average performance reviews, promotions, and relevant "extracurricular" activities/ engagements;
  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills, including experience in facilitating insight generation;
  • Thought leadership as expressed and displayed on leading industry panels, speaker engagements and/ or widely recognized publications;
  • Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of, and experience with relevant pharmaceutical data sources including sales data sources such as IMS, SourceRx, laptop/iPad detailing, Specialty Pharmacy data, formulary data, etc.;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as demonstrable in oral management presentations, succinct PowerPoint stories and layout, as well as structured syntheses and recommendations;
  • Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on-budget project delivery;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team leadership, thought leadership, and leadership awareness.
