Lymphoma Clinical Investigator
Moffitt Cancer Center seeks applicants for a Faculty appointment in the Department of Malignant Hematology, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Member on the Clinical Investigator academic track. True to our Departmental mission of improving outcomes of patients with hematological disorders by the use of novel therapies, our 19 Faculty conduct basic, translational and clinical research and care for over 3,000 new patients each year, resulting in excess of 25,000 clinic visits and over 15,000 inpatient days. The Department maintains a very active clinic practice, two inpatient services, and participates in the inpatient and outpatient care of patients undergoing treatment with cellular therapies.
Our Lymphoma Program Faculty see over half the Department’s new patients in clinic, or approximately 1,500 new patients annually. The Department has a very strong clinical and research partnership with the Department of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy. In addition the Department’s faculty participate actively in the Immune and Cellular Therapy Program, which is amongst the nation’s leaders in providing CAR-T and other novel immunotherapeutics to patients.
The successful candidate will focus on clinical care and clinical research of patients with lymphoid malignancies in need of novel therapies, including cellular therapy. Duties include the establishment of a focused clinic practice, attending on the inpatient Malignant Hematology Services and/or the Immune and Cellular Therapy Service, designing, implementing, and overseeing clinical trials related to lymphoid malignancies, and teaching of hematology/oncology fellows, residents and students.
Qualified applicants will possess an M.D. degree, a Florida medical license or eligibility, and ABIM board eligibility/certification in Hematology or Medical Oncology. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in lymphoma clinical research and the ability to design and conduct both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. A clinical and research interest in lower grade lymphomas is preferred but not required.
