Our client, a successful 360+ bed acute care facility, provides technologically advanced and leading edge care across a continuum that encompasses education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and Population Health. The Medical Center seeks to recruit an innovative and transformative physician leader to serve as the Clinical Director, Regional Cancer Center of a comprehensive cancer care program in the greater metropolitan New York area.

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Clinical Director for the Regional Cancer Center will provide the leadership, vision, strategic direction and integration of the oncology service line. The Director will ensure innovative program development, the delivery of evidence-based cancer care to the community, and will direct the planning and delivery of all cancer related services including community outreach and screening, education, detection, survivorship, navigation, support groups and clinical trials. S/he will coordinate and integrate the hospital sponsored and private physicians and ensure the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes at the appropriate cost of care, preparing the Center for value-based payment models within the oncology service line. This physician executive will also seek opportunities to expand the scope of services by identifying clinical needs, building on existing strengths and capitalizing on the Medical Center’s low cost position, reputation for personalized care, and culture of compassion and caring.

The successful candidate will be highly respected in their specialty with a regional if not national reputation in cancer care, a track record of published articles in critically appraised journals, and experience in clinical trials. Candidates will also have experience in the leadership and building of cancer programs and the ability to lead change at a time of intense regional competition in the cancer marketplace.  A collaborative leadership style coupled with strong entrepreneurial, communication, and interpersonal skills will be essential. A minimum of 5 years of leadership responsibility at a major cancer center is required.
