Penn State Cancer Institute and Mount Nittany Health announce an exceptional opportunity to serve as Medical Director for Cancer Care Partnership (CCP), a non-profit joint venture that provides state of the art outpatient hematology, medical oncology and infusion services. CCP is an office-based, hematology-oncology practice occupying 7,000 square feet within the Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion on the campus of Mount Nittany Medical Center. CCP patients benefit from the combined resources and expertise of Mount Nittany Health, a 260- bed acute care facility, and Penn State Hershey, the region’s academic health center.
Reporting to the CCP Board of Directors and the Medical Director of the Penn State Cancer Institute, the Medical Director will maintain responsibility for the clinical operations of CCP and will directly supervise physicians within the practice. He/she will build CCP’s outpatient hematology and medical oncology expertise, develop patient care programs and resources, and expand clinical trial activities. He/she will align a multidisciplinary care team of surgeons, radiation oncologists and other clinical and non-clinical care professionals in order to attain the highest level of clinical quality and evidence-based cancer medicine standards.
The Medical Director will be employed by Penn State Hershey Medical Center and receive a faculty appointment to the Division of Hematology Oncology, commensurate with experience.
Candidates for this position will be well-respected medical oncologists with a track record of accomplishments in clinical care, education and clinical research, and who possess a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, excellent organizational and communication skills, programmatic development abilities, and talent aligning all stakeholders with a common vision and goal. Candidates will be double-boarded in medical oncology and hematology and be eligible for an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
