Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is actively placing Hematology Oncology Physicians at the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) located in Albuquerque, NM. Multiple Locum Tenens and full-time positions are immediately available for this long-term project.
The Hematology/Oncology Clinic runs approximately 7.5 hours per day Monday through Friday with one (1) hour appointments for new patients and thirty (30) minutes for follow up patients. Schedule may reflect any combination of new and/or follow up patient appointments. Additionally, Hematology Oncology Physicians may be required to evaluate patients and prescribe treatments in the Chemo Infusion Unit. The NMVAHCS Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinic currently averages approximately 15 patients per clinic. Continuous infusion currently fluctuates between 8-10 patients per clinic.

Responsibilities
Provides hematology/oncology care, including but not limited to: Serves as the attending for inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services; performs evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory services relevant to the patient's medical problem; supervises and assists mid-level providers and ancillary health personnel in their evaluation and management of patients; performs acquisition of material from all orifices including venous blood, fluid collection, and localized abscesses presenting to the skin; performs arterial puncture and bone marrow biopsies; performs peer reviews as requested; takes on call; attends tumor board/cancer committee meetings; renders care in the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic and continuous infusion unit; provides consultative services in other inpatient areas of the medical center, i.e. ER, ICU, telemetry/step-down units, general medicine ward, and general surgical ward.
Qualifications
- Current, full, and unrestricted license(s) to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
- American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification in Hematology
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
