Open Line, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Cancer Immunotherapy Stanford Cancer Institute and the Stanford Center for Cell Therapy

The Stanford Cancer Institute is recruiting two faculty with interest and demonstrated expertise
in the immunotherapy of cancer. The positions are at the Assistant Professor, Associate
Professor, or Professor level in either the University Tenure Line (UTL) or Medical Center Line
(MCL). The successful candidate should be an accomplished clinical or laboratory investigator
with a demonstrated record of achievement as evidenced by research funding or the potential to
obtain research funding and/or publication in leading immunology and/or cancer journals.
Faculty rank, line and Departmental affiliation will be determined by the qualifications and
experience of the successful candidate.

The predominant criterion for appointment in the UTL is a major commitment to research and
teaching. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the MCL shall be excellence in the
overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine,
and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to
fulfill.

Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy is an established program within the Stanford Cancer
Institute that ranges from basic immunology to the use of a variety of biologic and cellular
immune therapies in cancer clinical trials. It benefits from broad interactions with other basic and
clinical research programs within the Institute, from the expertise available within Stanford
University at large, and from a large and growing patient population in the Stanford Cancer
Center. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program
that will contribute to a rapidly growing interdisciplinary translational research effort focused on
cancer immunology and cancer immunotherapy. The successful candidate will be expected to
teach fellows and participate in relevant clinical and basic science conferences. A newly
constructed stem cell and cell therapy GMP facility will be available for innovative research that
involves the use of cellular therapies. Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD. Candidates
who are primarily interested in clinical research must have an MD degree and be board certified
or eligible in adult or pediatric Oncology and/or Hematology.

Candidates should submit a detailed letter of interest and a CV to:
