JOB DESCRIPTION:

theMednet is looking for an Oncology Director to join our team of engineers and physicians. This is a 4 day/ week position, with 1 day set aside for clinical activities. We are based in New York City.

The Oncology Director will head content, engagement, and expansion of the medical, radiation, and gynecologic oncology communities and oversee our multidisciplinary virtual tumor board program and ASCO Journal Club program. He or she will establish relationships with oncologists all over the country, establish new engagement initiatives, and oversee site moderation and expansion into further oncology subspecialties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of physician community managers and moderators
  • Oversee content on the site and develop initiatives to keep content up to date and relevant
  • Develop, strategize, and own projects to drive engagement
  • Manage expansion into additional oncology communities (pediatric, surgical, etc)
  • Collaborate on projects related to partnerships with SWOG, NCI-designated cancer centers, and ASCO

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Board certified or board eligible in medical oncology and hematology
  • Broad knowledge base of solid and hematologic malignancies and benign hematology
  • Passion for improving the quality of cancer care on a large scale
  • Excellent writing and communication skills are required
  • Willingness to build strong personal relationships with oncologists throughout the country
  • Outgoing, friendly, and creative personality
  • Experience in social media platforms is a plus, but not required
