Rush University Medical Center invites applications for The Robert E. and Emily H. King Endowed Professor of Cancer Research in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology and Cell Therapy. Rush is seeking a Physician Scientist focused on immunotherapy in the treatment of lymphoma and hematologic cancers. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of grant funding and an established reputation in the field. In addition, they are Board Certified/Board Eligible and incoming at the associate or professor level. The predominant criteria include: a major commitment to research and scholarly activity that advances the field of medicine, teaching, excellence in clinical care, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

The vision for The Robert E. and Emily H. King Cancer Immunotherapy Research Program is to develop the next generation of cellular and immunologic treatments for hematologic malignancies, focused initially on lymphoma, leukemia, or myeloma.  To support this position substantial 5-year institutional financing will be provided to fund the laboratory and translational science above and beyond the current grant funding.  Furthermore, the successful candidate is anticipated to achieve substantial productivity during this time to lead to an endowed professorship that will support cancer research at Rush in perpetuity. The endowment provides support for salary, laboratory staff and equipment.
