The University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute (UCCI), the Division of Hematology and Oncology and UC Health are seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist with leadership experience to lead our rapidly expanding medical oncology program at our West Chester Hospital (WCH). This new full-time position of Medical Director for Oncology Services WCH will be charged with overseeing the development of the inpatient and outpatient medical oncology services and will include the supervision of several faculty and APPs. 

West Chester Hospital will be home of the UCCI north campus. The hospital is fully staffed with an array of subspecialists, intensive care units, infusion units, multidisciplinary oncology clinics and newly constructed infusion units.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional clinical leadership qualities and entrepreneurial skills needed for program development and relationship-building with academic and community colleagues. This role will also involve inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities. Effort distribution is negotiable and may include up to 30% non-clinical time for administration. This appointment includes the opportunity for strong clinical collaboration with clinical investigators to continue the growth of a robust clinical research program. The successful candidate will be offered an academic appointment at the Cincinnati Medical College commensurate to his/her credentials. He/she will report to the Director of the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow transplant and to the Director of the UCCI. This position will be supported by dedicated administrative staff, advanced practice providers, nurse navigators, case managers.

The Division of Hematology and Oncology supports the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC), West Chester Hospital (WCH), University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute and the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Division consists of clinical faculty members dedicated to advance the clinical and academic missions of the medical College. The Division includes multiple clinical centers of excellence, a Hemophilia Center, a Therapeutic phase I program and serves as a referral center for the Tri-State region. Divisional research labs provide venues for translational research studies.  In addition, ample opportunities exist on campus for access to resources in immunobiology, laboratory medicine, transfusion medicine, cell mediated therapy and cancer biology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, the Hoxworth Blood Center or the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with Board eligibility or Board certification in hematology or hematology and oncology
  • Candidates applicants should have leadership experience and commitment to program building.
