The Mayo Clinic is among the leading cancer care providers in the United States and is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. Oncologists in the Mayo Clinic Division of Medical Oncology collaborate extensively with other basic, translational and clinical scientists within the Mayo Clinic Women’s Cancer Program. These efforts include the preclinical and clinical development of new cancer therapies, as well as the identification and translation of novel host and tumor biomarkers.
The Women’s Cancer Program includes two separate NCI Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) grants including the Mayo Breast Cancer SPORE and the Mayo Ovarian SPORE. Clinical trials are conducted in collaboration with the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium (TBCRC), the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (UM1) and Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU) clinical trial network.
The ideal candidate for this position is a board-certified/board-eligible medical oncologist who will support the clinical practice and the clinical research programs. The position includes participation in education efforts for the ACGME-accredited hematology/oncology fellowship.
