As of Nov. 2018, VITRAKVI became the first approved TRK Inhibitor in the US and the first product ever to gain its initial FDA approval based on tumor genomic profile rather than the site of the tumor. VITRAKVI is approved for use in any solid tumor that has an NTRK gene fusion – this fusion is rare (<1% of cancers) and identifiable through cancer genomic testing. VITRAKVI is transforming thinking about how cancer can be treated and the brand exemplifies the significant advances in Precision Oncology that Bayer is committed to driving. This position will be vital to shaping the success of the VITRAKVI launch, which is also at the core of Bayer’s strategy to expand its leadership in oncology. The person who takes this position will need to provide leadership in simplifying the complexities of a drug that can be used across all solid tumors by all types of oncologists, with genomic profiling as a prerequisite for successful treatment. We are also expecting a competitive product to launch in 2019 and this position will be critical to shaping our competitive response, continuing leadership, and strong launch trajectory. Achieving the full potential of VITRAKVI will require speed, innovative thinking, and a deep commitment to patients.

 

The Deputy Director VITRAKVI Marketing reports to the Head of Marketing VITRAKVI and is responsible for shaping the professional promotions for the brand. This person will lead key strategic work and tactical pull through, Including but not limited to generating market, customer, and competitive insights through market research, ad boards, HCP engagement, and data analytics and driving brand differentiation through shaping brand messaging, promotional initiatives, and marketing materials. This person will also execute key brand management responsibilities such as brand, tactical and competitive planning, peer-to-peer education / speaker programs, agency management and budget oversight.

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director Vitrakvi Marketing, are to: 

  • Drive customer insight generation by generating key business questions, meeting with customers, and collaborating with business insights team to shape market research and interpretation of performance and execution data
     
  • Lead brand planning and tactical planning to provide clear and competitive strategic guidance and develop aligned execution plans across the matrix team
     
  • Develop differentiating brand messaging, objection handling, and promotional initiatives and materials based on customer insights and aligned to brand strategy
     
  • Shape peer-to-peer education / speaker program efforts, leading the development and roll-out of programs and materials and the tracking of key metrics
     
  • Proactively anticipate key market events and develop competitive action plans to consistently drive differentiation and leadership
     
  • Deliver high quality agency management to ensure strong partnership with professional key agency partners

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in bio-pharmaceutical industry; at least 4 years of experience in Marketing, including US Marketing 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to collaborate and align with internal and external partners to develop strategy and drive aligned execution
  • Strong analytical capabilities to seek out and interpret key data

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Prior experience in precision medicine
  • Prior product launch experience
  • Prior experience in Oncology
