The Role

Genmab is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join our Translational Medicine team.  Applicants must possess in-depth scientific expertise in immunology and immune-oncology with the ability to work across teams to rapidly advance preclinical and clinical research efforts. Candidates will be expected to independently design and implement high dimensional tumor-immune cell in vitro assays using clinical samples and ex-vivo derived patient tumor models.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strong technical expertise is required in:
    • Immune-phenotyping
    • Phospho signaling
    • Cytokine release
    • MLRs
    • NK/Macrophage assay and coculture approaches
  • Experimental work is an integral part of the role and the candidate will be expected to couple wet lab work with rigorous data analysis and integration across platforms
  • Additional responsibilities will include:
    • Working with and identifying external vendors/CROs for biomarker evaluation and to execute on novel translational technologies and approaches. 

Skills & Experience

  • PhD in Immunology, Oncology or Tumor Immunology is required with a minimum of 2 years postdoc experience and 5 years of industry experience
  • A strong publication record in Immunology and or Tumor Immunology
  • Ideally candidate will have in-depth knowledge / understanding of various mechanisms of therapeutic response, resistance and clinical biomarkers
  • Comprehensive expertise in developing and performing in vitro immune assays using whole blood, purified immune subsets and isolated tumor cells from patients; cell sorting experience is a plus
  • Broad immunological assay exposure
  • Hands on experience in executing and troubleshooting multi-color flow cytometry, Luminex and MSD assay protocols and data analysis
  • Analyze and visualize complex multi-parameter data sets utilizing software including FCS express, FlowJo, Spotfire and t-SNE
  • Experience managing CROs, instrument vendors and biobank/biorepository relationships would be advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate, both written and oral effectively and efficiently within the Genmab and with external partners/collaborators
