Director, U.S. Market Development, Multiple Myeloma

The Director, U.S. Market Development, multiple myeloma will develop integrated marketing and educational strategies and tactics to support best-in-class commercialization of Isatuximab for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma.  This individual will be responsible for implementing market shaping initiatives for health care providers, key congresses, disease treatment advocacy organizations, and other key stakeholders.  This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and will report to the Isatuximab U.S. Brand Lead.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the multiple myeloma disease state, the competitive landscape and the overall market to develop high-impact and differentiating market conditioning strategies/tactics
  • Translate science and clinical evidence into actionable and impactful marketing and educational strategies and tactics
  • Manage key opinion leader influence and centers of excellence mapping strategy, research & execution; liaise with Medical and TLL teams as appropriate on KOL engagement strategies
  • Serve as a key liaison to Medical team (including Medical Leadership, RML Team, Scientific Communications, Outcomes, etc.) for appropriate strategic alignment
  • Build Market Development launch readiness plan with ownership of specific pre-launch deliverables and KPIs
  • Coordinate with Competitive Intelligence(CI) and develop competitive positioning strategy and plan
  • Plan and coordinate advisory activities to inform market development strategies and tactical planning  
  • Develop impactful Peer-to-Peer education strategies and programs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams that support the brand including Global Marketing, Sales, Research & Development, Medical Affairs, Business Development, Market Research, and Finance
  • Manage agencies and vendors as needed to develop and execute industry leading marketing and educational programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 8+ years product/brand management experience in specialty pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry
  • Launch experience in specialty pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree
  • Multiple myeloma experience
  • Oncology experience and a deep understanding of the US oncology landscape
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate all clinical data / publications to support business objectives
  • Strong communication skills and track record of effective and influential presentations, delivering complex messages to external and internal customers, including Senior Leadership
  • Strong track record of project and process management skills, along with the ability to work on multiple tasks, and to effectively prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills and the ability to interact professionally representing Sanofi Genzyme
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and anticipate customer needs (internal and/or external)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology regulatory environment and  proven track record of managing tactical design, messaging and execution
  • Well-versed in core marketing principles and able to conceptualize and articulate a vision for the brand that energizes all functional areas and stakeholders.
  • Sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
