Director of GI Oncology

The Hematology and Oncology Division at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University is seeking candidates for the position of Director of GI oncology.

Candidates should exhibit a passion for leadership, patient care, mentorship, academic and research excellence. Along with leadership in the Seidman Cancer Center and the Division of Medical Oncology, the Director will build a nationally recognized GI malignancy program. University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is part of the National Cancer Institute-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are one of just two institutions in the country with a GI SPORE program, which enables opportunities for leadership and additional funding. Clinician-scientists with a focus in pancreatic cancer research will also be eligible for an existing and open endowed Chair. The institution offers rich environment for basic and clinical investigation with extensive core resources and scientific programs in several aspects of tumor biology and treatment approaches. Active scientific programs in drug discovery and developmental therapeutics, cancer imaging, cancer genetics, and molecular oncology facilitate the opportunity for translational efforts. The GI group is currently comprised of four talented and academically ambitious, junior medical oncologists. You will work closely with the GI SPORE program leaders, Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Chief of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery, to build basic science, translational, clinical trials, and clinical programs. Applicants must possess an MD or MD/PHD, be board eligible or certified in hematology/oncology, and be eligible for an Ohio State Medical License. Successful candidates will receive competitive compensation, resources for research and recruitments, and appointments in the Department of Medicine at the academic level of Full Professor.

Applicants should forward a current curriculum vitae, a letter describing their academic interests, and three letters of reference to:
