Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical geneticist to serve as Program Director for the Clinical Cancer Genetics Program.

The successful candidate will oversee the Familial Cancer Genetic Screening program and is expected to develop and/or maintain an extramurally-funded research program, and assist in training of residents, fellows, and graduate students. Ample opportunity exists for collaborating with basic, translational and clinical researchers at Roswell Park, OmniSeq (a Roswell-owned advanced cancer diagnostics enterprise) and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Buffalo, all located within the expanding Buffalo-Niagara Medical Complex in the mid-town section of Buffalo, NY.

Applicants must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalents), have at least two years of training or experience in cancer genetics, and be eligible for or have board certification from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

The successful applicant will supervise three clinical genetic counselors.  Duties will include review of clinical cases and sign-out of reports, and administrative duties, such as overseeing personnel and developing a business plan for the Clinical Genetics program. The individual will also be a member of the Genetics and Genomic Program, one of five established programs supported by our Cancer Center Support Grant (P30 CA016056).  In addition, the Director will be responsible for the outreach of the cancer genetics program in the broader catchment area and will help establish a robust genetic screening program in our survivorship program.

The Director will report to the Chair of Internal Medicine and will have an appointment at Roswell Park and the University of Buffalo Medical School commensurate with his or her background and accomplishments.

Roswell Park, America's first cancer center, founded in 1898, is located in Buffalo, New York, and is the only upstate New York facility to hold the National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center designation and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.  Roswell Park is an EOE.
