NYU Winthrop Hospital Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a candidate for a full-time faculty position to join its existing team of four pediatric hematology/oncology physicians. Candidates will have earned a D.O., M.D., or equivalent and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Individuals who are completing fellowship or early in their post-training career are encouraged to apply.
We are seeking a physician with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, who has an interest in practicing both hematology and oncology in an academic program. All members of our team participate in caring for the entire spectrum of pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with the full spectrum of hematologic and oncologic disorders, in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in clinical pediatric hematology oncology care provided in a patient and family centered manner and will integrate with all pediatric subspecialties, residents and medical students. The program boasts strong focus in caring for the patient and family through a comprehensive team including a pediatric hematology oncology pharmacist, social worker, psychologist, APHON-certified and chemotherapy-certified infusion nurses, and child life and music therapist. With an accredited pediatric residency program, there are many teaching opportunities with residents and medical students. We are a designated New York Hemoglobinopathy Center with a Comprehensive Sickle Cell, and Long-Term Survivorship Program. The division is the largest COG center in Nassau County.
The hospital, currently a teaching hospital of Stony Brook University School of Medicine, is the primary clinical campus for the NYU Long Island School of Medicine.
