Career opportunity of a lifetime - Northern California / Bay Area Hematologist/Oncologist

Get back to pure Hematology/Oncology, patient care and the satisfying work/life balance you deserve after you have trained so hard.  Avoid  “working for the man” – work for your patients and the thrill of helping them through their journey of care.

Highland Hospital / Alameda Health System seeks a clinically strong general Hematologist/Oncologist for a full time clinical position combined with inpatient teaching (Internal Medicine Run Resident Service). Highland Hospital, the flagship Level 1 trauma center, is the core of Alameda System, the provider of care to the greater East Bay Community in the San Francisco Bay Area.   Our acute care tower is state of the start with a network that includes outpatient clinics and a hospital on one convenient campus with a cohesive physician medical group.    Enjoy a Northern California lifestyle in the beautiful and thriving Bay area in the heart of Oakland, one of the most diverse cities in the United States.

Our core mission of “caring, healing, teaching, serving all” instills high-value, cost effective care for an underserved medical community.  We place a high premium on clinical education and training highly competent and culturally sensitive physicians.  Highland is an academic teaching institution with an internal medicine residency program with 60 residents in total and medical students rotate from UCSF and other local sites in numerous specialties.  The UCSF East Bay General and Trauma Surgery residency and the Highland Emergency residency program are ranked in the top percentiles in the Country.   You must have a strong interest in public health and population management.  Many of our faculty hold clinical teaching appointments with UCSF.  The Department of Medicine has 65 full time faculty members with a great deal of camaraderie, commitment to the mission and to our patients whom we serve.

Responsibilities include maintenance and development of clinical programs and patient care delivery models consistent with our mission, patient care, teaching and supervision of medicine residents and students.  BC/BE in Hematology and Oncology.   Please email : kknopf@alamedahealthsystem.org with questions and your CV if interested.
