The Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Boston University School of Medicine/ Boston Medical Center seeks a Clinical Investigator to join the Program in Head and Neck Oncology. The successful candidate will have outstanding clinical skills and the ability to lead clinical and translational research initiatives within this rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary program. Research and clinical collaboration with investigators in a robust Head and Neck cancer research program in the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine is a particularly strong opportunity.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in the treatment of Head and Neck Cancer and in clinical/translational investigation; however, outstanding candidates at the beginning of their careers will be also be considered. Qualified candidates will possess an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified in Medical Oncology. Candidates will be licensed or eligible for a medical license in the state of Massachusetts. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience.

The Section of Hematology and Oncology is one of eleven subspecialties in the Department of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. David C. Seldin, MD, PhD has served as Chief of Hematology and Oncology since January of 2008. The section has experienced significant growth over the past few years in its clinical, research, and teaching missions and is comprised of 24 full time MD or MD/PhD faculty members; 2 part-time faculty members; 5 Nurse Practitioners; and 6 faculty members with appointments at the Boston Veterans Administration Healthcare System. There are 12 clinical fellows in training and more than 16 post doctoral fellows, graduate students, and technicians carrying out research in the Hematology and Oncology labs, with additional laboratory and clinical personnel in the Cancer Center.
