Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) and the Geisel School of Medicine seek an accomplished and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the next Chief for the Division of Medical Oncology and Deputy Director for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an academic physician leader to substantially grow the division and to play an integral role in the rapid growth of the state's only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) is one of the nation's premier facilities for cancer treatment and research, spanning the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System, Dartmouth College, and the Geisel School of Medicine. It is one of only 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States. Geisel is distinctive among medical schools for its equal strength in biomedical discovery and health care delivery science, and its integration of the two across its research and educational programs.

The Chief & Deputy Director is the chief academic and administrative officer for the Division of Medical Oncology and is responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership for the clinical, research and education missions. She/he must ensure that research, education, clinical operations, and community outreach are all aligned to support a demanding and high-quality academic practice. The Chief & Deputy Director will have responsibility for the recruitment, retention and development of faculty and trainees.  This is an outstanding opportunity to further the translational research and clinical efforts in cancer treatment while partnering closely with the NCCC Director and the Chair of Medicine.

As a key member of the NCCC leadership team, candidates should have strong financial acumen and an understanding of what it takes to enhance research funding in a competitive environment. Exceptional communication skills, collaborative leadership within a matrixed organization and intellectual commitment to building efficient clinical operations are critical for the successful candidate.  Candidates must possess a M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent and are expected to have a track record of independently funded research in the cancer field.

Please direct all nominations and CVs/Cover Letters to Dartmouth-Hitchcock's search consultants Joyce De Leo, Ph.D., Lyndsey Nicodem and Stephen Davis, preferably via email, DartmouthChiefMedOnc@wittkieffer.com, or by phone at 630-575-6177.

Norris Cotton Cancer Center values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
