The Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Western New York’s only NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, has initiated a search for a Chair, Department of Medicine. The Roswell Park Department of Medicine is focused totally in oncology and is made up of physicians, scientists, and allied health personnel organized into two main divisions of Hematologic Malignancies and Solid tumor Malignancies.  We are seeking a board-certified Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to provide leadership to the department that consists of 158 employees including 42 Faculty members. Subspecialties include: Early Phase Clinical Trials, GU, Thoracic, GI, Melanoma, Sarcoma, Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT), Lymphoma, Myeloma, Leukemia, Breast and Survivorship.

Candidates should have a strong and well established clinical and research program in their field of interest.   Responsibilities for this senior leadership position include overseeing all clinical aspects of the Department to include the delivery of high quality, safe, and efficient patient care and includes teaching and supporting research within the Institute and managing the overall operations (strategic planning, faculty recruitment, financial operations, and capital equipment recommendations). Successful candidates will help build upon the Department’s existing strengths, and work to provide the vision and academic leadership that will bring the Department to the next level of excellence.

Applicants are required to be BC/BE in hematology or medical oncology and be eligible for a NY State Medical License.  Salary and total package are competitive a commensurate with experience and qualifications, and excellent fringe benefits are offered.
