JOIN TEAM UPG. The University of Virginia Physicians Group is seeking a Hematology/Medical Oncology Physician in the Charlottesville area (Augusta) for the Division of Hematology and Oncology, affiliated with the UVA Cancer Center.

ASPIRE TO WORK WITH THE BEST. The Division is devoted to the treatment and study of benign hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis, malignant hematology, hematopoietic stem cell transplant, and solid tumor oncology. Affiliated with the UVA Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)- designated cancer center for more than 25 years, the Division has highly productive translational research collaborations with basic science colleagues and, under the leadership of Michael E. Williams, MD, ScM, has continued its unprecedented expansion in faculty, clinical programs and academic productivity. The division’s focus is to provide the very best care for those with cancer and blood diseases at UVA Medical Center, the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, and at the four community cancer care sites in Fishersville, Culpeper, Farmville and the Charlottesville Pantops office.

ASPIRE TO PERFORM AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Due to continued growth, the Division has a need to recruit additional Hematology/Oncology generalists to join this outstanding team. This is a tenure-ineligible clinical faculty position designed for physicians focused on the provision of outstanding clinical care, clinical service and medical education within an academic health system. This position will be primarily responsible for seeing patients with a broad spectrum of benign and malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors in an outpatient community settings. You will also have opportunities to participate in clinical research and disease-focused multidisciplinary programs within the University and Cancer Center. Candidates must be an MD or equivalent, be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified or board eligible in both Medical Oncology and Hematology by employment start date. You must have experience in care of patients with a broad spectrum of malignant hematologic and solid tumors as well as benign hematology and anticoagulation and be committed to clinical excellence.

Charlottesville averages more than 200 days of sunshine a year; the average July high temperature is 88 degrees.
