Assistant Research Physician (Medical Oncology)

The Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), a division of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), announces a call for applications for an Assistant Research Physician (Staff Clinician), an exciting opportunity intended for physicians with an interest in translating bench-to-bedside research to clinical trials, especially focused on pancreatic malignancies.  LMB is part of CCR, NCI’s largest intramural program, and has vibrant, multidisciplinary research efforts featuring innovative, high-impact bench-to-bedside research and close collaboration between physicians and scientists.

The successful candidate will take the lead in developing and implementing clinical studies investigating promising new treatments for pancreatic cancer. Key skills include: familiarity with biomarker-driven study design, protocol development and patient-oriented research; knowledge related to the ethical and regulatory issues of conducting clinical research involving human subjects; experience with the collection and management of research data; and interest in community outreach and teaching medical oncology fellows.

Assistant Research Physicians are appointed for a renewable position at a competitive salary commensurate with subspecialty training and experience, and additional funds for travel and training. ELIGIBILITY: Applicants should be board-eligible or board-certified in medical oncology.

Candidates may be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or possess (or be eligible for) the appropriate work visa and must have successfully completed subspecialty training at a U.S. accredited institution in an appropriate field.
