DIVISION OF HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE

The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Vermont (UVM) Larner College of Medicine and the UVM Medical Group, are seeking a medical oncologist/hematologist faculty member as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway to join a practice affiliated with the University, in Northern New York. Clinical duties will encompass general oncology and hematology (benign and malignant disease) and include inpatient consult service and outpatient clinics at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, New York as well as at affiliated or contract outreach clinics located in rural sections of Northern New York. For the qualified candidate, an oncology leadership role for the Adirondack/Northern New York region is available. As part of the team at CVPH, this faculty member will join a practice of three medical oncologists and one radiation oncologist at the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and American College of Radiation Oncologists accredited FitzPatrick Cancer Center. There will be ample opportunities to interact with the University of Vermont Cancer Center for patient care, participation in clinical trials and other scholarly endeavors.

Plattsburgh is located close to the Adirondack Mountains and Canada, providing easy access to skiing and hiking in the High Peaks or shopping and entertainment venues in Quebec’s metropolis. The region is home to a variety of arts and culture events, boasts a rich history and offers many faith and diversity resources including community outreach, events and places of worship. Located on the shore of Lake Champlain this active waterfront city features a small town feel combined with the advantages and opportunities of a larger urban center.

Applicants must be Board Eligible or Certified in Hematology and Medical

Oncology within the first two years of appointment and must be eligible for licensure in the State of New York, privileges at CVPH Medical Center and appointment at the University of Vermont.
