Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an academic and clinical leader to serve as the Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology and hold an academic appointment as Associate or Full Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School.

This individual will be responsible for the full scope of clinical, research and educational activities of the department as well as collaborative activities with the other departments, Mass General Cancer Center, Mass General Brigham System, Harvard Medical School, and other affiliated institutions.

Candidates will possess considerable leadership, managerial and collaborative skills, with a national/international reputation in Radiation Oncology. Candidates should have a clear vision for achieving excellence in clinical care, research, and teaching, in order to lead a complex and successful department to even higher levels of excellence. The Radiation Oncology Department, an integral part of the comprehensive Mass General Cancer Center, combines clinical expertise, compassionate care, and advanced radiation therapies to deliver the safest, most effective treatments for cancer and benign tumors. Our Radiation Oncologists work closely with specialized multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, personalized, and comprehensive cancer care.  The department is equipped with Elekta and Varian linear accelerators with integrated imaging capabilities, a proton cyclotron and synchrotron with 4 treatment rooms, GE CT Simulators, and Raystation and Astroid Treatment Planning Systems.  The department, including our community-based locations, treats over 400 patients per day across both proton and photon modalities.  The department is fully supported by a talented team of radiation therapists, dosimetrists, medical physicists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and administrative support staff. The department focuses on innovation, groundbreaking research, and contributes to the teaching mission of the hospital and Harvard Medical School.
