Community Hematology/Oncology Physician - WVU Medicine - Faculty Appointment

The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center is West Virginia’s premier cancer facility with a national reputation of excellence in cancer treatment, prevention and research. Located in Morgantown, within the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University School of Medicine, MBRCC is recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, for providing the best in cancer care. Our teams of cancer specialists, work closely with each patient to develop the best possible tailored treatment plans. In addition to our state-of-the-art treatment programs, including our new radiation oncology therapies, the Cancer Center also provides access to national clinical trials for many cancer types. Our clinics are owned and operated by WVU Hospitals (which was recently ranked the #1 Hospital in WV, by U.S. News and World Report.) The Cancer Center Clinics encompasses the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center, an American College of Radiology (ACR) designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence; the Comprehensive Breast Care Program, accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC); Bonnie's Bus -The Bonnie Wells Wilson Mobile Mammography Program, that delivers the most advanced digital mammography to communities in West Virginia, as well as Radiation Oncology and Surgical Oncology and the Osborn Hematopoietic Malignancy and Transplantation Program, West Virginia's only source for blood and marrow transplants. The U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals specialty ranking in the area of cancer lists WVU Hospitals with a score of 53.2, which is the 60th best score among the 908 hospitals nationally which received scores in the cancer specialty category. The Scientific Programs within the MBRCC are organized to nurture interactions between basic, clinical and population scientists and are designed to impact on specific health disparities and populations with unique needs within our state. MBRCC Programs include Molecular Mechanisms of EMT and Metastasis, Breast Cancer, Osborn Hematopoietic Malignancy and Transplantation, and Allen Lung Cancer. Members in these Programs include over 100 faculty from eight schools and 33 department across campus. This interdisciplinary environment helps further cancer research by understanding the biological mechanisms and progression of cancer, translating these discoveries into therapeutic targets to treat and prevent the diseases, and engaging high risk and underserved communities to reduce the burden of cancer among West Virginians.
