Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH), located in St. Petersburg, FL, is launching a national search to identify a pediatric specialist who will serve as the Institute Director of their leading Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute (CBDI). JHACH is a fully integrated member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, which includes Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System. JHACH consists of a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked as a U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospital, and a new 225,000-square-foot Research and Education Building, which houses the Institute’s 40,000 square feet of research space, and a state-of-the-art simulation center for training.
The Institute Director of CBDI, who will also serve as Chair of the Hawkins Family Endowed Professorship, is expected to be both an active clinician and a respected academic leader with a successful track record of program building in either the clinical or research domains. The successful candidate must be board certified in a pediatric subspecialty and have a focused interest in pediatric cancer or blood disorders. The Institute Director will have the ability to mentor junior faculty and residents/fellows while fostering an environment of world-class clinical care and research.
The CBDI is one of the six main clinical institutes at JHACH. Their missions target excellence in clinical care research, education, quality, safety, and patient advocacy. Their organizational structure is matrix-based and led by an Institute Director in collaboration with a Senior Director of Administration and a Senior Director of Nursing.
The Institute Director of CBDI will hold a faculty appointment with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine at the Associate Professor level or higher and will lead a top-notch team that includes pediatric hematologists and oncologists, and basic science researchers. CBDI consists of three Divisions: Blood and Marrow Transplant, Oncology, and Hematology. CBDI’s key programs include: CAR-T cell therapy, AYA Oncology, cancer survivorship clinic, leukemia/lymphoma clinic, solid tumor clinic, neuro-oncology and a neurocutaneous disorders clinic, comprehensive sickle cell disease program, a hemophilia treatment center, and a thrombosis program. We are seeking a visionary leader who will enhance and expand the clinical and academic reach of the institute.
