Duke Health and Duke Cancer Network are recruiting a second general hematology-oncology physician for its growing community cancer center in Henderson, NC.  Interest in teaching and/or involvement in community-based clinical research is a plus.  Call responsibilities are consultative only with no rounding responsibilities.

The Maria Parham Cancer Center has had Duke Physicians and advanced practice providers delivering world-class cancer care in its community for many years – translating clinical research findings into the most advanced therapies for their patients.  At Maria Parham Cancer Center there is a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, with both Duke hematology/medical oncology and radiation oncology providing patient care within the same center. The multidisciplinary team includes local surgeons, pathologists, radiologists and dedicated support staff of registered nurses, patient navigator, financial navigator, radiation therapists, social worker, dietician, and clerical personnel.  The organization is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Commission on Cancer Community Cancer program.

Henderson is a welcoming, historic community with lovely homes, good schools, and easy access to all the Triangle area has to offer.  Nearby Kerr Lake, with 800 miles of shoreline, is the hub of recreation for outdoor enthusiasts.  Only 30 - 45 minutes from Raleigh/Durham, Henderson offers easy access to many cultural amenities, attractions, and universities in the Triangle area. Depending on personal preference, hired physician also has the option to live in the nearby Triangle communities such as North Durham or Wake Forest.
