Job Details
Duke Health and the Duke Cancer Network are seeking a fourth Hematologist-Oncologist to join Duke’s team in developing and supporting a large network of affiliated community-based cancer programs and providers. Hired role has significant clinical responsibilities within Duke and surrounding medical communities. Call responsibilities are modest with no admitting responsibilities.
Ideal candidate would have a strong interest in collaborating with Duke sub-specialists to develop cancer treatment protocols for local communities and in developing community-based clinical research. Hired physician would be based in Raleigh/Durham, and willing to travel weekly to various Hematology/Oncology clinic locations in North Carolina. A typical week would include an average of 4 clinic days/week seeking own panel of patients and 1 day/week “protected time” to focus on academic interests. Current Duke Cancer Network staff includes 3 Duke-based physicians, 5 community-based physicians, 4 APP’s in conjunction with clinical practice and education, research, regulatory and business operations staff.
