Job Details

Seeking a BC/BE Hematology-Oncologist or Medical Oncologist Physician to join a thriving practice of seven physicians.  Lexington Oncology recently relocated into a 60,000 sq.ft. space on Lexington Medical Center's main campus.  The program is affiliated with Duke Health and has been awarded by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer the Cancer Center of Excellence, and they are accredited by QOPI.

The weekly schedule will be a mix of managing the outpatient clinic and inpatient census, practicing 50% hematology and 50% oncology.  The practice is continuing to grow 3-5% year over year.

Clinical research is welcomed, where all physicians have a hand in at least one trial.  Some of the trials have included breast, lung, colon, general, and lymphoma cancers.  Twice a week, physicians will have tumor conferences where radiology oncologist, pathologists, and physicians will attend.

Call responsibilities include a 1:8 rotation. 

Lexington Medical Center is a 557-bed hospital in West Columbia, South Carolina that opened in 1971. The health care network includes five community medical centers and more than 6,500 health care employees. The network also has cardiovascular and oncology care affiliated with Duke Health, an occupational health center, the largest skilled nursing facility in the Carolinas, an Alzheimer’s care center and more than 65 physician practices.  Since opening, they have led the way with creating satellite facilities outpatient services with specialties, community programs, and excellent technology advances.  Lexington Medical Center operates one of the busiest Emergency departments in South Carolina, treating nearly 85,000 patients each year. Lexington Medical Center recently underwent the largest hospital expansion in South Carolina history by creating a new patient tower that opened in 2019. With the expansion, an additional 100 beds were be added creating a 10 story hospital.  Patient care and satisfaction is a focus and scores are consistently ranked in the top 15% in the nation.
