Position Summary

The Department of Radiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is accepting applications for a Clinical Radiation Oncology Faculty position to begin in November/December 2021.

This is a full-time position in the Department of Radiology, Division of Radiation Oncology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine for an American Board of Radiology board eligible/certified candidate. The candidate is expected to engage in clinical, research, teaching, and administrative activities, while working closely with our clinical partner, Tampa General Hospital (TGH). The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of care within the Cancer Institute and with other services and relevant affiliated sites with USF Health.

Radiation oncology clinical services are currently provided at the Tampa General Hospital and 2 clinical locations within the Tampa region. A fourth comprehensive outpatient cancer center is expected to be operational in early 2022.

Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Duties: Provide outpatient radiation therapy services and consults at various TGH locations. Supply appropriate quality assurance measures to qualify for industry accreditation.
  2. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.             

Position Qualifications

   Minimum Qualifications

  1. Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
  2. Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in American Board of Radiology.
  3. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.  To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.

   Preferred Qualifications

  1. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical and interpersonal skills, provide excellent clinical care in collaboration with disease specific oncology teams, participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinics, and perform research with mentorship by senior faculty as appropriate. The faculty member is expected to be familiar with and comply with department and university policies and procedures and have an active role in Quality Improvement activities. For qualified candidates, leadership opportunities which support the clinical, research and educational missions of the Division and Cancer Institute will be available.
