The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology seeks a medical oncologist with a focus on gastrointestinal (GI) medical oncology to join our growing program. Our ideal candidate would be an early to mid-career GI medical oncologist with leadership skills and ambition to expand the Mayo Clinic in Arizona Gastrointestinal (GI) Medical Oncology Program.  The successful candidate will partner with our internationally recognized group including but not limited to transplant, surgical, gastroenterology/hepatology and radiation oncology teams in a multidisciplinary clinic, develop and conduct clinical trials, help recruit future colleagues and drive innovation across the spectrum of care. The applicant will have a primary focus in colorectal cancer and provide backup services to the rest of the GI cancer practice.  A solid record of publications, clinical trial design and conduct is desired. The applicant will have the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, fellows and
provide mentorship to more junior faculty. The successful applicant will be able to build their academic practice and reputation nationally and internationally.

Cancer care at Mayo Clinic is managed collaboratively across the Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota campuses therefore the applicant will have access to the combined resources of the entire Mayo Clinic Enterprise Network.  This includes over 200 oncologists and hematologists, CORE research facilities, pathology, clinical records, and over 2000 faculty involved in cancer care. Additionally, the GI Cancer Program members are active participants in the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and the NCI Experimental Therapeutics-Clinical Trials Network (ET-CTN). The program includes two separate NCI Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) grants.  Clinical trials are conducted in collaboration with Industry partners, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (UM1) and the Mayo-based Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU) clinical trial network.
